Ausgrid is the largest energy network in the country with more than 100 years experience providing a safe and reliable supply of electricity.

It operates an electricity network covering 22,275 square kilometres across Sydney, the Central Coast and the Hunter, supplying more than 1.6 million homes and businesses.

Ausgrid's network includes more than 49,000 kilometres of overhead and underground powerlines, half a million power poles, 45 subtransmission substations, 189 zone substations and more than 31,000 distribution substations.

Its customer base ranges from residential and rural customers through to small businesses and large multinational corporations, across industries such as mining, manufacturing, oil refining, shipping, engineering, tourism and agriculture businesses.

The company's operations include building and managing the electricity infrastructure for the Sydney, Central Coast and Hunter regions, customer connections, street lighting, metering and testing services, and emergency repairs.
