Energy Networks Australia responds to AEMC pricing review released today

Energy Networks Australia (ENA) welcomes the Australian Energy Market Commission’s draft report The pricing review: Electricity pricing for a consumer driven future which outlines reforms to deliver fairer and smarter, electricity pricing for Australian consumers.
ENA is pleased to see recognition of its rule change request, which seeks to provide networks with greater flexibility to amend tariff structure statements within a regulatory period.
“This rule change reflects the unprecedented pace of change in our electricity system and the need for more adaptable pathways to amend network tariffs to better meet customer needs while minimising costs,” ENA CEO Dom van den Berg said.
“These reforms focus on equity and efficiency in network tariffs, while supporting consumer uptake of new technologies and shifting patterns of energy usage,” she said.
“This aligns with ENA’s commitment to a modern, customer-focused energy system”.
ENA looks forward to working with stakeholders to ensure these reforms deliver benefits for all Australians while maintaining a secure and reliable grid.
