Old Blighty the innovator: grids of the future

The ENA UK’s Low Carbon Networks and Innovation (LCNI) conference is a major annual showcase of how gas and electricity networks are becoming the enablers of the low carbon future. There were many topics familiar to us – solar integration, developing local distributed energy resources markets, decarbonising gas, engaging with communities – as well as a presentation on Alstom’s hydrogen train.

Also this week, The UK Government and Ofgem published an update to their Upgrading our Energy System: Smart Systems and Flexibility Plan. The ENA UK’s Open Networks project featured prominently, developing the pathway to networks being the platforms that enable the distributed energy future. Read the update here:
