Power and Water

Power and Water delivers power, clean drinking water and sewerage services year round across some 1 350 000 square kilometres, stretching from Australia’s Red Centre north to the sea.

Their over 70 000 customers are based in five major centres, eight smaller towns and 79 remote communities throughout the Northern Territory.

Their five major power stations use natural gas delivered by a 1500 kilometre pipeline between Central Australia and Darwin. They also operate diesel power stations in the more remote corners of the Territory.

With assets of more than $1 billion, an annual turnover of $400 million, and over 700 employees, Power and Water makes an enormous contribution to the Northern Territory economy.

Each year Power and Water spend over $300 million on operational costs alone and they buy goods and services where possible from local companies.

Power and Water is a government-owned corporation.
